The TCM view
Hawthorn is sour, sweet and slightly warm, moving blood and aiding digestion; blueberry is sweet, sour and neutral, moving blood and brightening the eyes; red dates are sweet and warm, nourishing blood. It suits blood-stasis types at the solstice.
