Why it suits you: Yin-deficient types get a dry mouth and dry skin in winter. Snow fungus moistens yin and kiwi generates fluids, so this tangy soup is moistening without being heating.

The TCM view
Snow fungus is sweet and neutral, moistening the lungs and generating fluids; kiwi is sweet, sour and cold, generating fluids and clearing heat; rock sugar moistens dryness. Cool and moistening, it suits yin-deficient types at the solstice.
